Adults with discriminating
taste needn't compromise their high design standards
when they become parents, according to Genius Jones
owner Daniel Kron. The 2-year-old company, which
he runs with his wife, Geane Brito, carries clothes,
furniture, strollers and toys with sleek, modernist
designs. "You're
not going to find SpongeBob of Spiderman here," says
Kron. "It's hard to find anything that requires
batteries here, except maybe a clock." Along
with highly popular Bugaboo strollers and fashionable
diaper bags, Genius Jones features cool artist-designed
toys, such as the fresh Flower Ball by Takashi Murakami.
Yet Kron maintains there's nothing "snobbish" about
the store. "We have something for everybody,"he
says. "You can come in and buy a $5 toy or a
$500 toy if you want to."
Sophisticated grownups find this is the place for
gifts that let youngsters- and their parents - know
you think they're special. |
